#69 Fly Agaric

Hey folks,

I haven’t been out with the camera much this past couple of weeks, mainly due to the weather and having been busy foraging. I did at least manage to get a couple of shots of this cute little guy (can a mushroom be cute?), the fly agaric mushroom (actual name amanita muscaria).

I love these mushrooms – even though they’re poisonous (and hallucinogenic) and therefore not great for foraging, they often signal other edible mushrooms like boletes being close by, including the much prized porcini (aka ‘penny bun’, ‘king bolete’ or ‘cep’). The fly agaric are very nice to look at as well, and they definitely give the woods a bit of a magical feel!

Thanks for visiting,

Kaylin x
