Hey folks,

How cute are these little birds?! The long-tailed tit is small even for a tit (chickadee to American readers – a name which I have to say I much prefer, though I’m not sure you get these ones in North America). My fiancé says they look like if you brought a Disney drawing of a bird to life, and I have to agree.

These little balls of fluff – that weigh less than a pound coin, about 9g – travel about in packs, arriving all of a sudden, bouncing around and then disappearing again. For such a small bird they are pretty fearless, and I often find a few will come pretty close for a nosey and to have a shout at me. Which, of course, I’m totally okay with!
