Hey folks,

I’ve had to remind myself lately that there are things to take pictures of other than birds (!) given that I have developed a bit of an obsession with the feathery little guys.

What better reminder than snowdrops? These are about the first flowers to start coming through in the spring here, shortly followed by daffodils. I didn’t see a lot of snowdrops when I lived in the city but they are absolutely everywhere here, the banks of the local river are basically a carpet of them and it’s stunning.

There is snow forecast for the next few days, so I might even manage to get a few pictures of them alongside their namesake, fingers crossed!

I can’t wait for summer to come, I miss the simplicity of macro photography compared to taking pictures of birds (the flowers and plants don’t fly away or hide up trees, which is nice).
