Hey folks,

Today’s photo is a pied wagtail – a subspecies of the white wagtail. The Pied wagtail is purely black and white, whereas other subspecies of white wagtail have grey – they’re pretty cool looking little birds!

There are loads around our local fields right now, hanging out amongst the sheep and the crows. They spend the winter in Spain and North Africa, and this subspecies are specific to Britain and Ireland, where they breed. I wish I could spend the winter in North Africa, to be honest! 😂
