Hey folks,
Today’s pic is one of the many anemone of the woods which are currently in bloom around here. I really like these delicate little flowers for their distinctive shape – and they have a cool name too! They are also one of my fiancé’s favourite wild flowers, which make me think of her when I see them 🙂
They are another sign of spring, and will mostly be gone after May when all the trees are covered in leaves meaning they can’t get the sunlight they love so much. They are also a sign of ancient woodland, where they prefer to grow, so it’s nice to know that we have some very old woodland round here – unfortunately more and more of a rarity in the UK.
Thanks for visiting,
Kaylin
