#122 Juvenile Chaffinch

Hey folks,

It’s that time of year when the hedges, fields and trees are full of baby birds!

This juvenile chaffinch was kind enough to come and pay me a visit while I was out walking among the fields. Aren’t they just gorgeous? I find chaffinch are one of those birds that will always come over to have a nosy at what you’re doing on their patch and seem to have no fear of humans (others being robins and great tits, who both always come to have a nosy, and in the case of great tits, a bit of a shout!).

This little one was very curious indeed, they hung about for a while and followed me along the path for a bit, which meant I was able to get some absolutely lovely shots πŸ™‚

Thanks for visiting,

Kaylin

  1. That’s lovely! I always struggle to spot Chaffinches – I can hear them loud and clear and I know they’re very close but I think I’ve only ever seen one once 😁

    1. Oh really? Maybe the ones round here are particularly brave/nosy!
