Hey folks,

I’m back after a pretty long (8 months, I think?) hiatus. I’ve been busy in that time, not just with photography but also with writing and a new job – that being the main reason for the hiatus. So I have lots of photos to share!

I’ll start off with this shot of a dog rose I snapped recently. I’ve been trying out split toning to give my macro shots more of a ‘mood’, and I think it works quite well in this shot.

It’s a bit of a shame that dog roses get called such. The ‘dog’ refers to it not being as good as other ‘roses’, the kind you pay a lot of money for in a florist that is, but I think they’re very pretty in their own way.
