I took this photo a couple of months back after a day trip out with my partner and friends. We were driving back and the sunset was so nice, so I had to stop and get a few snaps of course! I was reminded of it as I sold my first print of this shot recently.
I’m always unsure which of my photographs will do well – I seem to have little objectivity in knowing this – so I’m always quite excited when something sells for the first time.
Arran is probably one of my most photographed subjects, as it dominates the south west Scottish coast. We’re going on a trip to the island in a few weeks with the same friends. It’s been a while and I can’t wait. There’s a mountain, Goatfell, that I always try to climb when I’m on the island, and have done countless times now. It’s been a while, so we’ll see if I’m still up to the task!
